<p><strong>PR agency Koolhoven &amp; Partners will continue under the name Gazette as of today. Koolhoven &amp; Partners was founded in 2014 by former journalists Martijn Koolhoven and Romke Spierdijk. The duo (both ex-Telegraaf, Spierdijk also Talpa, De Pers and GeenStijl) has since built a PR agency with strong journalistic DNA.</strong></p>



<p>The transition to Gazette is more than just a name change. The PR agency is focusing on further expansion, which places demands not only on the name but also on the agency structure, internal procedures and the team. The agency is being assisted in this transition by seasoned entrepreneur Wouter Glaser of Go Delphi, who is well-versed in PR. Glaser has successfully built multiple companies from the ground up, including PR agencies Glasnost and Fitzgerald.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>&#8216;Gazette is inextricably linked to journalism&#8217;<br></strong>&#8220;We have been in business for eleven years and have grown into an agency of eight employees with more than thirty clients. And we want to continue growing. This requires a name that is future-proof and better suits the agency we have become,&#8221; says founder Martijn Koolhoven. Co-founder Romke Spierdijk: &#8220;Everyone who works with us has a background in journalism, which is essential to the way we work. The name Gazette is inextricably linked to journalism, just like our agency.&#8221;</p>



<p>The name Gazette refers to the coin with which people bought the very first newspapers in sixteenth-century Venice. Gazette has now been incorporated into collective memory as a symbol for creating and disseminating news. The new name also offers various opportunities to further strengthen the journalistic history of the agency, the founders and team members.</p>



<p>Gazette, formerly Koolhoven &amp; Partners, has built a very broad and diverse client base. Over the past eleven years, the agency has been the PR partner for Roompot Vakanties, Vebego, EuroParcs, Quatt, Dekbeddiscounter.nl, EasyToys, KPN Zakelijke Markt, Schouten &amp; Nelissen and Nederlandse Energiemaatschappij (NLE), among others. The agency has grown alongside clients such as online supermarket Picnic, RAI Amsterdam, GASSAN, Amac, Pets Place, ALLSAFE Mini Opslag, La Souris and various leading players in real estate and private equity.</p>

<p><strong>Gazette, together with RAI Amsterdam, has been awarded at the Dutch PR Awards for the <em>Love your Liver</em> campaign. The annual industry awards recognize the best PR cases in the Netherlands. The jury praised the campaign for its creative approach, clear message, and visible social impact.  </strong></p>



<p>What started as a medical congress grew into a national awareness campaign about liver health. RAI Amsterdam and the Amsterdam Convention Bureau organized free liver tests for the public during the EASL | The Home of Hepatology congress. In the Netherlands, an estimated 400,000 people are at risk of serious liver damage or liver cancer, often without knowing it. The goal of <em>Love your Liver</em> was to take that topic out of the medical sphere and bring it close to people: concrete, accessible, and activating.   </p>

<p><strong>A campaign with real impact</strong><br>The communication strategy consisted of two steps: first, the national announcement of the free liver tests, followed by our personal press approach based on research by liver specialist Bart Takkenberg. The media response was overwhelming. Even before the first test day, the phone was ringing off the hook, and Goedemorgen Nederland, NPO Radio 1, Hart van Nederland, Het Parool, and the NOS Journaal, among others, made reports from the location. Long lines formed in front of the tiny houses at the RAI of people who wanted to know the condition of their liver.   </p>



<p>The jury of the Dutch PR Awards described <em>Love your Liver</em> as &#8216;A campaign that makes a seemingly dry medical seminar creative, clear, and meaningful &#8211; and brings the subject to life publicly.&#8217; According to the jury, &#8216;the content is solid, the translation relevant and accessible, and the result visible at all levels: from awareness to measurable impact.&#8217;</p>



<p><strong>An appreciation to be proud of</strong><br>For Gazette, this award is a special recognition of the power of journalistic PR. <em>Love your Liver </em>shows that PR can be more than just visibility: it can make people aware, inform them, and encourage them to take action. Together with RAI Amsterdam, we look back with pride on a campaign that really made a difference. </p>

<p><strong>Since June 2024, Gazette has been located on the third floor of the FD Media Group building at Prins Bernhardplein in Amsterdam. A fitting location for an agency that has been operating for over ten years at the intersection of journalism and PR, and is now literally at the forefront of the news.</strong></p>



<p>Gazette started in 2014 on the Singel in the heart of Amsterdam, with the Flower Market on its doorstep. Subsequently, the agency moved to Oostenburgervoorstraat, a location where the focus increasingly shifted from a start-up to a mature PR partner for national brands. The new location at Prins Bernhardplein marks yet another new phase. The building &#8211; a former Renault garage &#8211; now houses the editorial offices of BNR Nieuwsradio and Het Financieele Dagblad. An iconic landmark opposite Amsterdam Amstel station, where journalists, creators, and creatives gather daily.</p>

<p><strong>Between News and Creation</strong><br>Gazette shares the third and fourth floors of the building with advertising agency <a href="https://fcb-amsterdam.nl/">FCB Amsterdam</a>, marketing agency <a href="https://boostr.agency/">Boostr Agency</a>, and industry platform <a href="https://vianederland.nl/">VIA Nederland</a>. The dynamic of various disciplines under one roof fosters cross-pollination, new ideas, and above all, a great deal of energy. &#8220;It is inspiring to literally work among people who also create stories &#8211; whether in words, images, or campaigns,&#8221; says Romke Spierdijk, co-founder of Gazette. &#8220;The informal atmosphere and short lines of communication make the location not only practical but also particularly pleasant to work in.&#8221;</p>



<p><strong>&#8216;A Place That Suits Who We Are&#8217;</strong><br>The new environment reflects what Gazette aims to be: a journalistic PR agency that moves with current events, at the heart of the media landscape. Here, that feels more natural than ever. The building at Prins Bernhardplein is therefore not just an office, but a place that suits Gazette&#8217;s character: curious, connected, and always close to the news.</p>
